Join us, our industry, academic and government stakeholders for our latest webinar, where we're shaping the future of the UK space sector.
Since April 2023, we’ve been bringing together people and organisations through Space Partnership workshops (in person and online), engaging and drawing on the depth of knowledge and expertise across the UK space sector. These workshops help inform shared priorities and identify the collective action required to achieve our shared ambitions. We keep the sector updated through our monthly newsletter, hosting and attending events across the UK.
We have delivered workshops and participated in events across the UK, engaging stakeholders from industry, government, and academia.

The Space Partnership team has brought together 275 representatives from across industry, academia and government to develop 22 top-level narrative Capability Roadmaps, which if all are progressed would deliver the ambition set out in the National Space Strategy. The process itself increased understanding and alignment between the stakeholder groups and informed the 5 capability areas identified in the Space Industrial Plan: Space Domain Awareness, In-Space Servicing, Assembly and Manufacturing (ISAM), Space data for Earth applications, PNT and Satcoms. The latest versions of of the 22 Capability Roadmaps are available here.
Through a series of workshops, the Space Partnership has facilitated a cross-sector discussion on the long-term vision for UK engagement with ESA. These have considered the opportunities that ESA offers to support delivery of the ambition in the National Space Strategy.
In collaboration with the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology, UK Space Agency and Satellite Applications Catapult, the Space Partnership is facilitating a series of workshops bringing industry, academia and government together to support the development of the Space Workforce Action Plan. The Space Partnership is currently facilitating the Space Skills Advisory Panel to progress work on the delivery plans for the actions.
Small sat manufacturing was raised by representatives from all stakeholder groups during different Space Partnership activities. After conducting desk research, the Space Partnership held two virtual workshops to consider the importance of small sat manufacturing to the delivery of the National Space Strategy and the required interventions and commissioned ByrceTech to produce a pictorial representation of the UK small sat manufacturing value chain to provide a solid foundation for further discussions. The infographic shows Today i.e. companies who have flight heritage with hardware that has been manufactured in the UK, and the Future i.e. companies with flight heritage plus companies with plans to launch hardware that has been manufactured in the UK. We continue to welcome feedback.
The Space Partnership has facilitated 2 discussions on future hybrid satcom networks and is working to understand the user terminal supply chain in the UK. In 2023, the Space Partnership supported the MOD Space Academy pilot 2-day ‘Space Operations Awareness’ course at Harwell to explore the overlap in skills needs between defence and civil space.
We provide a monthly newsletter to keep our stakeholders more regularly updated on our work. You can sign up below.
We also host a virtual 1-hour Engagement Forum every quarter to update the UK space sector on our recent activities with industry, academic, and government stakeholders.
We welcome ideas for new projects that fulfil the Space Partnership Project Criteria: each project must have a clear need for industry, academia and government to come together to address a specific priority, clear deliverables, and agreed contributions from the stakeholders before the Space Partnership team takes it forward.
